Not afraid anymore
So, I’ve been censoring my blog, knowing that my General Manager and Manager read it. That ends right here, right now. It is my personal web space and I will say what I want on it. I recently got moved from WestHost, where I had been working for 2 years and am now a Server Engineer for vps.net. So far its been interesting, I have been doing level 2, level 3, and development for vps.net. The work is definitely better, not only is it more challenging, it is more fun to do overall. I don’t have to answer question after question about why their e-mail isn’t working because they are using the wrong settings. With vps.net, I’m just working weekdays, so I finally am getting the weekends I’ve been missing so much for 2 years. The move has put me in a very good mood, and I don’t think I’ve been this happy for at least a year.
So, I got moved to another position and technically its a promotion (I was a level 1 tech before), but I got no raise or anything else to compensate for the extra and harder work I am doing. Lately this has been putting me in a pinch as this month I had to borrow $100 from my parents to pay rent. I was due for a raise on the 11th, but nothing so far. I think it is because my old supervisor needs to review it, and he has been out sick. Speaking of sick, I already know my General Manager is sick of talking to me, so I am doing my best to deal with problems by my own (which is actually pretty easy) and only escalating when needed. I am just holding my breath and hoping that something good happens soon or else I’ll have to find a night job as well to make ends meet. I want to be able to afford the wedding, honeymoon, my Fiance’s schooling and me getting back to school, only time will tell if that will happen.
I saw Sherlock Holmes last night with my Fiance. It was a really good movie, I have to say the best I’ve seen in the 2009 year. Twists, turns, action, but kept fairly true to the books as my Fiance tells me.
Anyway, back to work for me!

I would still be careful. Yes, they read it, and yes — they have every right to react. Please be careful, sweetie. Remember – there might be other people out of work that would gladly put up with what you’re ranting about.

I think you forgot to mention the part where your new manager is the greatest, kindest guy even, and how you would take a pay cut to work for him … blah blah
